I really like seeing PCs using their actions to cooperate and achieve a greater goal, and not only because it’s such a rare occurrence (PLAYER BURRRRN!). It’s simply a more satisfying narrative than having each PC doing their own thing, and then one of them beats the boss on their own.
This is one of the things I like about using Toughness vs. using hit points. With the latter, because you just need to erode the HP block to zero, consistency is all you really need, so fights might get prolonged longer than they’re fun; but with the former, combining your attacks can result in beating the Toughness score on your first or second try (which occasionally is too quick and not satisfying, but that’s why you have GM Bennies).
